Every year seems to fly by faster than the last! My baby is turning 4 this month and this illustration captures some of the fun, creative, and joyful aspects of her personality!
My daughter's birthday is always around Easter so this year I decided to create an illustration for her inspired by this special holiday. She loves to dress up and loves her bunnies! She has a ton of little stuffed bunnies and plays with them all the time! She turns 3 this April and this sweet drawing captures her perfectly ...always with a basket or bag in hand, dressing up, and playing pretend!
We have a few special Easter things planned with the kids this long weekend :) I hope you enjoy yours! Happy Easter!
When designing this beautiful fabric collection, I certainly had little babies in mind and pictured the collection being used for bedding, quilts, and nursery decor. But I also imagined sweet little dresses for girls. Thanks to an extremely talented friend of mine, I was able to dress my daughter in what was once simply a vision! I have a few more dresses and an adorable sun hat to photograph but I am working with a very sassy and independent toddler, so you'll have to forgive me if it takes me a while to capture her in these pieces!
The Newborn by Bambini fabric collection is available in various stores online as well as your local fabric store in the US. Unfortunately the collection is not available in Canada, but you can certainly order the fabric online.

I was so excited to receive a box of these books at my door this morning! I worked on this very sweet book with Orca Publishers last year and I'm so happy to finally see it in person. It's a lovely story for any baby or young child written by the talented Lorna Crozier and illustrated by yours truly :) It's available for preorder at Chapters and on Amazon and it would make a perfect little Easter gift for your little ones.
The spreads from the book will also soon be available for purchased as prints in my Etsy store. Stay tuned if this is of interest!
I'm working on remembering to take the time to cherish the small wonders of life during this time of year... like my daughter who absolutely adores snow globes :)
In good tradition, I have finished yet another yearly Christmas card to be sent to our close family and friends. I had some little helpers this year who wanted to add the glitter to the snow! My 8 year old did a great job adding his personal touch. But then we had my 2 year old enter the scene... so a few cards may need to be set aside ;) I've added this sweet chickadee illustration to my store if you would like to hang it on your walls this winter season!
And for those of you busy shopping all those amazing Black Friday sales, I've just released a discount code (active immediately) so you can all receive 25% off all prints in my art store! The code to receive the discount is BF2016. The code will be active until the end of day tomorrow.
Enjoy this fun and festive season :)
Here is a quick submission for this week's Illustration Friday theme, 'Aquatic'. And who can believe that Christmas is creeping up on us already?! Christmas cards are in the works and I'll be posting some sneak peaks soon...
We are not big on Halloween over here but we do love seeing the kids excited to dress up and scurry around collecting treats!
Here's an older illustration I did that celebrates the opportunity to be little and have a big imagination. Hope your little ones have a fun dressing up tonight!
I illustrated this for my sweet son, Elijah, when he was 3. He has loved dogs ever since he's set eyes on them! And he's wearing a 'stripe' shirt so it fits with the theme ;)
If you've participated this week, feel free to link to your work in the comments. Hope you enjoy :)
I'd love to try and participate in Illustration Friday each week to bring some new work to the table and also revisit some old favorites! Every Friday a new topic is posted and you have one week to submit your own illustration to the online gallery and see what everyone else is sharing too!
If you've participated this week, feel free to link to your work in the comments. Here is this week's submission, 'kiss'. Hope you enjoy :)
I am so excited to share with you the new fabric collection I've worked on for Bambini Fabrics. It is subtle, sweet, and delicate - perfect for a new baby! I've loved extending my work into fabrics and am hoping to show you some fun things you can do with the collection very soon. I have a couple of very talented people working on some sweet little girl's dresses and quilts. Have you purchased the collection and made anything special? I would love for you to link your work in the comments! If you're looking to purchase the collection, it's available in various quilting and fabric shops throughout the U.S. We are also working on getting distribution in Canada and will hopefully have some stores carrying the line very soon! If you'd like to buy the collection online, there is a sweet Etsy shop that carries the line.
This collection is tied to the latest released Gabby book - Gabby Quilts for Baby Brother! "Gabby’s family is growing! She has spent weeks sewing a quilt for her new baby brother, who is coming home today. But at the last minute, Gabby learns that Bear, Goose and Sheep feel kind of … left out. Will Gabby be able to find a solution and finish the quilt in time?"

After 10 years of blogging and refining my style, it felt right to have a refresh of my logo. This logo is much more representative of my style as it has evolved over the years. Now with three littles in school (some of the time, anyway), there are little blocks of time to really get back into work. I am looking forward to posting more on my blog and producing some new art!
